Zenless Zone Zero version 3.2 update 'Their Secret Histories' launches September 9
The version 3.2 update for Zenless Zone Zero, titled "Their Secret Histories," is officially set to launch on September 9, developer miHoYo confirmed. This major patch introduces the brand-new Armorer Agent Specialty and brings two S-Rank Agents to the roster: Claret, an Electric Armorer, and Roxy, a Wind Stun Agent.
Developers have outlined the narrative arc for this update. In the main story, Proxies travel to the Shrouded Reef's special zone, Vyrium, to treat mutated power within their bodies. However, they discover that the seemingly impregnable Roscaelifer has been infiltrated by TOPS. Simultaneously, a shipment of Porcelloy from Flint Workshop vanishes without a trace. Claret, head of the Flint Workshop, and her assistant Roxy are determined to investigate these mysteries, pulling the Proxies into their case as they uncover secrets connected to Helios Academy and Airspace Patrol Department's Administrative Director Lindverne Sunbringer.

The introduction of the Armorer Specialty marks a significant gameplay shift. This new class balances offense and defense, featuring all-new Maim and multi-CRIT mechanics. Claret, as the first Armorer Agent, can accumulate Gash on enemies through attacks; once fully stacked, this triggers Maim for additional damage and grants a Laceration DMG boost. Her skills utilize DEF as their base DMG multiplier, and her build revolves around accumulating DEF, CRIT Rate, and CRIT DMG. Additionally, the Armorer Specialty introduces the Counter Assist mechanic, allowing Agents to contest certain enemy Control Skills.

Roxy, the chief smith of Flint Workshop, brings a different playstyle with her core mechanic, Eyes of the Storm. Holding her EX Special Attack creates a tornado on the field that can gather and detonate other Eyes of the Storm for massive damage. Her Ultimate unleashes powerful strikes in a large area. For reruns during this version, S-Rank Agents Nangong Yu and Promeia will return alongside their Exclusive W-Engines.

Players can expect a variety of events and rewards. By participating in related events during Versions 3.2 and 3.3, Proxies can obtain the Angels of Delusion faction series outfits for free. The limited-time event "Clink, Clank, Pinball Knight!" invites players to team up with Kahkiboo to craft an artistic pinball machine. Other available events include the virtual pet-raising "Diary of an Orbie Parent," the Booastrum detective event "Chronicles of the Hobbling Crow," and the HIA virtual combat event "Shadow Chase Showdown." Rewards will include Polychromes, Tuning Calibrators, and other generous content.

Enigma of the Labyrinth: Operation Bagel will receive a season update, divided into standard and themed types. Standard updates bring new Z-Rank valuables, character Gear, advanced challenges, server-wide rankings, and mission resets. Version 3.2 is a standard season update that also features new season-limited large-capacity inventory and Proxy accessories for exchange. A larger-scale themed season update featuring new maps and systems is currently in development.

On the system side, the Beginner Guide has been updated. Proxies who did not claim the Agent self-select perk in Version 3.1 can now select from Agents Jane, Hugo, or Soldier 0 – Anby after the update, along with a corresponding Exclusive W-Engine. Agent Koleda will receive an enhancement, and the Perfect Assist trigger mechanism has been optimized so that golden flashes consistently trigger Defensive Assist while red flashes trigger Evasive Assist. A new Armorer-exclusive VR Training stage has been added to the VR Training Room.

Finally, a new "Break-Even Beacon" item is being introduced. Upon use, it summons a Bangboo to carry away some supplies in advance, ensuring that even if extraction fails, those supplies won't be lost and will still count toward the current round's tally. Exclusive Gears for Claret and Roxy will also be updated simultaneously in Hollow Zero gameplay.
