Ubisoft to sunset Rainbow Six Mobile in January 2027
Ubisoft has announced that it will sunset Rainbow Six Mobile. The tactical shooter is scheduled to remain online until January 15, 2027.
The decision was confirmed by the development team at Ubisoft Nova. In their announcement, the studio stated that the move is part of a shift toward other long-term strategic projects, though they did not provide specific commercial reasons for the shutdown. The upcoming season will still launch as planned, and further details regarding the sunset process are expected in the coming weeks.
Rainbow Six Mobile is a free-to-play 5v5 first-person shooter designed for mobile platforms, based on the Rainbow Six Siege universe. It features maps carried over from the PC and console versions—such as Bank, Border, Clubhouse, and Oregon—and allows players to use Operators with specialized gadgets.
Since its soft launch in 2023, the game has released 15 seasons and surpassed 10 million downloads on Google Play, maintaining a 4.6 rating from approximately 132,000 reviews. Recent player feedback has frequently highlighted issues with hit registration and the cost of unlocking Operators.
Several key questions remain unanswered for the community:
- What will happen to Platinum premium currency and purchases made prior to the shutdown?
- Will any content or features from the mobile version be integrated into other Rainbow Six titles?
While the mobile title reaches its end, Rainbow Six Siege remains fully active on PC and consoles, continuing its regular seasonal content cycle.
