At the studio's booth, CEO and producer Filipe Pereira discussed the personal and historical motivations behind the title, which is set in the arid northeastern region of Brazil during the late 19th century.

The story follows Cisera, the protagonist from ARIDA: Backland's Awakening, as she searches for her parents and journeys toward the legendary village of Canudos. The narrative is inspired by real historical events, specifically the Canudos War, focusing on the struggle and resilience of people in the Sertão region.

Gameplay in ARIDA 2: Rise of the Brave eschews direct combat in favor of survival mechanics. Players must rely on resource gathering, knowledge of the environment, and stealth to navigate the harsh landscape. The demo showcased during the event emphasized exploration and survival tasks, such as gathering Calora plants to craft ropes and cloth, and the critical importance of locating water sources.

A notable update for international audiences is the addition of Japanese language support. While the studio has expressed interest in multi-platform and multi-language deployment, the demo featured Japanese interface and subtitles, with audio remaining in English and Brazilian Portuguese.

However, the increased scale of the production has led to a delay. Originally aimed for a 2026 release, Aoca Game Lab has confirmed that ARIDA 2: Rise of the Brave is now scheduled for a 2027 launch. The game continues to serve as the second installment in a planned trilogy exploring the history of the Brazilian hinterlands.
