Selangor Red Giants extended their lead in MPL Malaysia Season 18 with a 2-0 victory over Bigetron MY by VIT, securing their seventh win of the regular season. In the other match of the day, Invictus Gaming also closed out their series against Team Rey with a 2-0 scoreline.
The result solidified Selangor Red Giants at the top of the standings with 21 points. After eight series, the team holds a record of 7-1 and a map difference of +12. Their advantage over the nearest group of pursuers is now six points.
Invictus Gaming marked their fifth victory of the season by not dropping a single map against Team Rey. The team now sits at 5-3 with a map difference of +2 and 15 points. Team Rey also remains at 15 points with a 5-3 record, though their map difference stands at +4.
Bigetron MY by VIT suffered their fifth loss of the season, dropping to a 3-5 record and nine points. MPL Malaysia Season 18 runs from August 14 to October 30, with teams competing for two spots at the M8 World Championship.
