OWCS Midseason Championship 2026: Format and Day-One Schedule

Sixteen Teams from Four Regions

The field represents Asia, China, North America, and EMEA. Participants include Crazy Raccoon, Team Falcons, Virtus.pro, Geekay Esports, Dallas Fuel, Spacestation, Weibo Gaming, JD Gaming, All Gamers, VARREL, and Team Secret.

Crazy Raccoon holds the top overall seed after winning Champions Clash, while Team Falcons qualified as defending Midseason champion. Seeding records the route into the event; it does not grant a map advantage.

How the Group Stage Works

From July 29 to 31, the sixteen teams are divided into two groups of eight. Each uses a double-elimination bracket, with twenty series scheduled across the stage. Group matches are first to two map wins.

Four teams from each group reach playoffs. A first defeat sends a team into the lower route rather than eliminating it, while a second loss ends the run.

Playoffs and Grand Final

Eight teams enter a single-elimination bracket on August 1 and 2. Quarterfinals and semifinals are first to three map wins, and the Grand Final is first to four.

Moving from Ft2 to Ft3 and Ft4 raises the value of map depth and adaptation. A team that survives the short group format must confirm the result across longer series.

Opening Matches on July 29

The official schedule opens with ZETA DIVISION versus VARREL at 10:00 UTC. Crazy Raccoon versus Team Secret follows at 11:15, Geekay Esports versus All Gamers at 12:30, and Spacestation versus JD Gaming at 13:45.

The first displayed Group A match is T1 versus Twisted Minds at 15:00 UTC. No results are attached because those series had not been played at publication time.

Reading a Short Series

In group-stage Ft2, one map changes the entire series quickly. Under the hero-ban format, each team bans one hero per map; the two bans must come from different roles, and a team cannot repeat its own hero ban within the series.

The higher seed bans first on the opening map; after that, the side that lost the previous map bans first. This gives the trailing team a correction tool without guaranteeing a reversal.

A 2–0 score therefore needs context from map choice, ban order, and adjustment between rounds.

What to Watch on Day One

Group B immediately mixes teams with different regional experience. The first cross-regional maps will show whether pace, hero priorities, and interpretation of the current pool converge or clash.

Until a series finishes, only the schedule should be recorded. Score, winner, and lower-bracket placement should be used after an official result appears, not from stream impressions or unverified posts.
