The MSI Claw 8 EX AI+ handheld may soon arrive in a more budget-friendly configuration. According to a new leak, the company is preparing a variant that swaps the current Intel Arc G3 Extreme for the standard Arc G3 chip, potentially offering a significant price reduction.

Documents obtained by Videocardz suggest that MSI is preparing the Claw 8 EX AI+ CG3M to sit alongside the existing CG3EM lineup, where the 'E' denotes the Extreme version. A product listing on CompSource also surfaced, suggesting a retail price of $1,499. This would represent a substantial saving compared to the current Extreme model, which is listed at approximately $1,854.
While both chips are based on the Panther Lake architecture and share the same core count (2 performance, 8 efficient, and 4 LP efficient cores) and base clocks, the primary difference lies in the graphics. The Arc G3 Extreme features the Arc B390 with 12 Xe3 GPU cores running at 2.3 GHz, whereas the standard Arc G3 utilizes the Arc B370 with 10 Xe3 cores at 2.2 GHz.
