Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance One-Handed Sword Video Reveals New Blade Medicine Slash
A new video showcases the One-Handed Sword in Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance, introducing the Boost Bracer and the new Blade Medicine Slash mechanic.
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance has revealed a new weapon introduction video for the Sword, showcasing its integration with the expansion’s core mechanic, the Boost Bracer. The footage highlights a new attack called "Blade Medicine Slash," which allows hunters to apply item effects while striking enemies.
The video demonstrates how the Sword utilizes the Boost Bracer, a new hunting tool introduced in the expansion. When activated, the bracer enables powerful attacks known as Boost Activation Actions. Following activation, the hunter enters a Boost State, which temporarily enhances various actions and unlocks new techniques and combos.

A key addition for the Sword is the Blade Medicine Slash. This move allows players to use items during attacks, granting effects based on the specific item type. Notably, this technique remains available even when the hunter is not in the Boost State, providing consistent utility for item-based strategies.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is a large-scale expansion featuring Master Rank content, new monsters, fields, and story elements. It is scheduled for release in 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
