PowerA releases Mario & Yoshi Switch 2 controller

PowerA has announced the release of a new wireless controller for the Nintendo Switch 2, featuring a design inspired by Mario and Yoshi. The product is scheduled to launch on September 30, 2026, and will be available for 8,900 yen (tax included).
The controller is a licensed Nintendo product that incorporates visual elements from Super Mario Bros. alongside the central Mario and Yoshi artwork. It is designed to provide a comfortable gaming experience with several performance-focused features.
Key hardware specifications include Hall effect sensors on the L/R stick buttons to prevent drift, as well as anti-friction rings to support smooth operation. The device also features a C button for the "Game Chat" function, allowing for convenient voice communication during play.
On the back of the controller, two advanced gaming buttons allow users to assign their preferred controls. The unit also supports motion sensors, including acceleration and gyro sensors, to enhance gameplay performance.
The rechargeable battery offers up to 30 hours of gameplay on a single charge, and a 3-meter USB-C charging cable is included in the box. The controller measures 107 x 149 x 60 mm and weighs 299 grams.
Compatibility extends to the Nintendo Switch 2, as well as the standard Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch OLED, and Nintendo Switch Lite. However, the product comes with a two-year warranty for domestic regular products and lacks certain features, including amiibo read/write, NFC, audio jack, HD Rumble 2, and motion IR camera support. Additionally, it does not support the C button on older Switch models.
