marie steps down from FlyQuest RED due to visa denial
Marie "marie" Sørensen has announced her departure from FlyQuest RED following the news that her American visa was denied. The decision follows complications regarding her legal status in the United States.
According to "FlyQuest" CCO Stephanie "missharvey" Harvey, the demise of the ESL Impact League made renewing marie's visa extremely complicated and ultimately unsuccessful. As the league was the primary major event in the women's circuit, its cancellation directly impacted the team's ability to secure travel documents. Consequently, marie stated on X that she will take a break from professional Counter-Strike 2 until opportunities in the women's scene improve.
The player's absence was already felt during the second ESL Challenger League Season 52 Cup, where Shimmer's Wrenna "Stx" Trampel served as a stand-in. In mixed competitions throughout 2026, marie has struggled with a 0.65 rating over 26 maps, many of which were played from Europe.
The current FlyQuest RED roster consists of:
- Vivienne "BiBiAhn" Quach
- Emma "Emy" Choe
- Vanessa "vanessa" Gideon
- Lydia "Fawx" Dalton
- Alan "Shakezullah" Hardeman (Coach)
