IdolPet Caretaker: Details at BGS2026
At Brasil Game Show 2026, the indie team SirPanda Games introduced their upcoming title IdolPet Caretaker. Developed for PC and Android, this visual novel tasks players with helping animals achieve their dreams of becoming idols.
Set in Japan, the story follows a caretaker at an animal shelter. Three pets—a rabbit named Luna, a cat named Mikela, and a puppy named Abby—transform into humans and decide to form an idol group. Artist Clara Candia described the game as a story focused on family bonds rather than a traditional romance simulator.

The gameplay follows a daily cycle of morning, afternoon, and evening. In the morning, players manage feeding and exercise routines, which impact the characters' stats. Afternoons are spent exploring the city with the characters to advance their individual stories. Evenings feature the aftermath of performances. A core component of the experience will be rhythm games, where players influence the success of the idols' stage performances.

The game will feature toon-shaded 3D models with over 40 different facial expressions to enhance emotional storytelling. The soundtrack is being composed by Lemuel Amado, who has already completed 11 tracks. On the technical side, programmer Guido Schmidt is developing a custom game engine specifically for the project.

IdolPet Caretaker is slated for a late 2027 release, with a demo expected in Q1 2027. Currently, the game will support English, Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. The developers are actively seeking partners for Japanese localization to better connect with the culture that inspired the game's setting.
