FURIA and BetBoom Team to face off in Thunderpick World Championship 2026 Grand Final
FURIA and BetBoom Team have advanced to the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 grand final following semifinal victories over Aurora and Falcons, respectively. The championship match is scheduled for October 18 in a best-of-five format.
In a surprising turn of events, BetBoom Team defeated Falcons 2-1 in the semifinals. After losing the opening map, Anubis (5-13), Falcons had a chance to close the series on Dust2 with an overtime victory (16:14). However, BetBoom Team responded strongly on Mirage, taking the decider 13-7. Magnojez earned the MVP title for his performance, finishing with a +13 differential.
FURIA secured their place in the final with a 2-0 sweep against Aurora. While the maps Dust2 (13-8) and Inferno (13-10) were closely contested, Kaike "KSCERATO" Cerato dominated the series. He was named MVP, recording a server-high 91 ADR and a 38/22 kill-death ratio.
The tournament, currently held in Malta, features a $1 million prize pool, with $500,000 awarded to the champion. Aurora and Falcons will now compete in the third-place match before the grand final.
