Yuurih: "Winning against Falcons in the final would be special"
FURIA's Yuri "yuurih" Boian told HLTV.org about the team's run to the Thunderpick World Championship 2026 final. The Brazilian player emphasized the importance of overcoming previous rivals and stated that a victory over teams like Falcons would be a particularly meaningful reward for their busy season.
Following a 2:0 victory over Aurora in the semifinals, FURIA secured their spot in the grand final. Speaking on the achievement, yuurih noted that returning to a final stage is a significant milestone for the roster, especially considering the long gap since their last final appearance, excluding the Major. He also highlighted the satisfaction of defeating teams like Aurora and Legacy, who had previously held the upper hand in their matchups.
With a demanding tournament schedule leaving minimal time for rest, yuurih believes that winning the title is the ultimate motivation for the squad. He expressed a desire to test themselves against the world's elite; specifically, he mentioned that defeating Falcons, Spirit, or MOUZ in a final would make the championship victory exceptionally valuable for the team.
The Thunderpick World Championship 2026 grand final will see FURIA face off against BetBoom Team. The event is being held in Attard, Malta, featuring a $1 million prize pool, with $500,000 awarded to the champion.
