DN Wins KeSPA Cup, Defeating Nongshim Red Phoenix 3-0 in the Final
DN claimed victory at the KeSPA Cup, sweeping Nongshim Red Phoenix with a 3-0 scoreline in the grand final. This triumph marks the team's first trophy since their last win at the Ulsan tournament in 2019, ending a seven-year drought.
The victorious DN received a prize pool of 3 million won, while the runner-up Nongshim Red Phoenix took home 1.5 million won. The Final MVP (FMVP) award went to Ildugju («Dudu»), who was also set to receive a separate bonus of 200,000 won.
In a post-match interview, interim coach Yoo Byeong-jun («Kkun») explained that the team felt comfortable facing Nongshim Red Phoenix. «We have faced them in finals before, so it was easier for us», he stated. He noted that the team had a precise understanding of their opponent's strengths and successfully countered them.
Yoo Byeong-jun elaborated on their strategy, stating that they focused on solidifying their advantages while minimizing weaknesses. «Our preparation made our game look complex to the opponent», he added. The coach expressed gratitude to the fans for their support and pledged to win both remaining regular season matches.
