Austin LAN secures ten teams in two hours with $30k prize pool
Austin LAN, the inaugural Counter-Strike 2 event hosted by content creator Austin "Austin" Meadows', has already secured ten team signups in just two hours after registration opened on August 27th. The tournament will take place in Naperville, Illinois, from November 13th to 15th, immediately following the VRS cutoff for the PGL Singapore Major.
The event offers a substantial prize pool of $30,000 and features a total of 32 available spots. Currently, ten teams have registered, though none are currently ranked on the VRS or HLTV leaderboards. Despite the timing relative to the Major cutoff potentially reducing appeal for some squads, the significant prize money may still attract participants.
Team tickets are priced at $2,250 and include entry for five players, two hotel rooms with queen beds for four nights, and three nights of buffet meals. Coaches can purchase separate tickets for $250, which also cover food expenses. The LAN is being run in partnership with FRAG, utilizing their administrative support and computer infrastructure.
There are still over 20 spots remaining for registration. Interested parties can learn more about the event details or proceed with registration through the official channels provided by the organizers.
