ASPYRE return to CS2 with former MERC roster
North American esports organization ASPYRE has officially returned to the Counter-Strike 2 scene, announcing the acquisition of the former MERC roster. The team, which left after exiting the game in June, has found a new home and immediately strengthened its lineup.
The ex-MERC squad was looking for a new organization to call home after MERC dropped the team. Key players have rejoined, and Tyler "Ounce" Lumsden was signed to round out the roster. Additionally, former Vireo.pro coach Michelle "Michelle Pain" Pain has joined the team to serve as a sports psychologist.
It is worth noting that ASPYRE previously briefly hosted regain from July to August 2025 before the players elected to go it alone and continue to build the regain brand. The current roster currently holds a 3-3 record in ESEA Advanced Season 58 but is on a two-game losing streak following losses to Elation and Wanted Goons.
The new roster includes:
- Andrew "celery" Pylko
- "vow"
- Charles "ChwE" Whitehead
- Aaron "aaronsfury" Baldwin
- Tyler "Ounce" Lumsden
ASPYRE's next match in ESEA Advanced Season 58 will see them take on Pug Palace on August 4th.
