AION 2 Classes and Roles Guide
Your class determines more than a weapon: it defines the job you perform in every encounter. Here is a practical overview of all global-launch roles.
Eight global-launch classes
The global launch build features eight classes. Each has a clear role, but long-term comfort depends on whether you enjoy its pace, range and responsibilities.

How to choose without regrets
Do not pick solely from a damage chart made for another region. Balance changes, while you will spend most of your time with the class’s core mechanics. Templar and Gladiator suit players who like the front line; Ranger and Sorcerer control distance; Cleric and Chanter support parties; Assassin and Spiritmaster reward more deliberate execution.
How combat works
AION 2 uses action-oriented combat with manual aiming, dodges and constant movement. Treat stamina as a defensive resource: spending it on unnecessary dashes can leave you exposed when a boss begins a dangerous attack.
Build a short, reliable rotation first. Add interrupts, control, cleansing or emergency healing after the fundamentals feel natural. That approach is more effective than pressing every skill as soon as it becomes available.
Understanding party roles
- The tank controls enemy attention and positioning.
- The healer manages health, cleanses and dangerous phases.
- Support strengthens the party and covers weaknesses in its composition.
- Damage dealers must execute mechanics and avoid wasting the healer’s resources.
For your first character, choose a job you are willing to perform repeatedly. Every class is useful when its player understands the role and respects encounter mechanics.
