AION 2 Beginner’s Guide
AION 2 introduces many systems at once. This guide puts them in a sensible order so your first hours in Atreia are productive and easy to understand.
What AION 2 is
AION 2 returns to Atreia roughly two centuries after the original game. Elyos and Asmodians remain at the heart of the conflict, while flight, large battles and vertical exploration are paired with a modern action-combat system.
The global PC version is available through Steam and PURPLE. Founder’s Pack early access began on September 30, 2026, with the full launch scheduled for October 5. Interface labels, balance and some system details may still change around release.

Choosing Elyos or Asmodians
Your faction decides your visual identity, starting regions and side in the central conflict. Elyos inhabit the brighter part of Atreia, while Asmodians come from harsher northern lands. Core class roles are shared, so choose for atmosphere, character style and—most importantly—the faction selected by your friends.
The best route through your first hours
- Finish the introduction and configure targeting, dodge and keybinds.
- Follow the main story because it unlocks essential systems and regions.
- Complete regional quests along your route, but do not try to clear the entire map immediately.
- Gather resources while travelling so life skills do not fall behind.
- Join a Legion early if group PvE or PvP is part of your plan.

Global launch notes
This guide series is written for the global launch build. Advice based on the Korean or Taiwanese service should be checked against your current client because rewards, schedules and balance values may differ.
A good beginner rule is to unlock systems through the story first, then choose one immediate goal: levels, equipment, crafting or PvP. Trying to maximize everything at once usually wastes time and currency.
