The finals are being held at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokoname, Japan. After six matches on September 28, South Korea accumulated a total of 38 points, consisting of 15 placement points and 23 kill points. The team's situation looked grim after Match 5, when they sat in 8th place, trailing the medal positions by 25 points.
However, a dominant performance in Match 6 changed the momentum. By securing a 2nd-place finish and 7 kills, South Korea earned 13 points in the final match of the day. This surge allowed them to overtake Japan and Uzbekistan, narrowing the gap to the podium to 17 points.

A poor showing in Match 4, which yielded only 1 placement point and 2 kills, dropped them to 8th place with a cumulative total of 18. Although they picked up 7 points in Match 5, a strong performance by Vietnam (17 points in that match) widened the gap between South Korea and the medal contenders to 25 points.
In the final Match 6, South Korea delivered one of the strongest performances of the day, trailing only Thailand, who earned 23 points. While the top four nations—Thailand, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia—dominated the Chicken Dinners across the six matches, South Korea's late-stage surge has set the stage for a potential chase for the podium on the second day of competition.
