Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble canceled
The free-to-play multiplayer arena shooter Ratchet & Clank: Ranger Rumble has been canceled, Sony Interactive Entertainment and developer Oh BiBi announced. The game, which had been undergoing a phased soft-launch across several global regions, will soon be delisted from digital storefronts and eventually undergo a permanent server shutdown.
The decision to cease development marks the end of the project's current lifecycle. Following its announcement in November 2025, the game entered a soft-launch phase, first appearing in the Philippines and Indonesia. The rollout expanded through late 2025 and 2026, reaching markets in Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Canada, and the United Kingdom, before the decision to discontinue the project was finalized.
Key Dates and Shutdown Timeline
- November 6, 2026: The final planned update is being rolled out on the Apple App Store and Google Play Stores.
- November 21, 2026: The game will be delisted from the App Store and Google Play, meaning new players will no longer be able to download it.
- May 1, 2027: Official End of Service. Game servers will shut down permanently, and the game will no longer be playable.
For those who have already installed the game, playability will remain intact until the final shutdown in May 2027. However, players should note that all player data, including progress and earned items, will be wiped from the servers once the service ends. Additionally, in-app purchases have already been removed, though players can still use existing currency to acquire upgrades, cosmetics, or characters until the end of service.
Service FAQ and Player Information
Oh BiBi has addressed several concerns regarding the transition. While matchmaking and competitive features will remain active for existing players, no further content updates are planned after the November 7, 2026, update. Furthermore, the developers clarified that this decision is specific to Ranger Rumble and has no impact on other Ratchet & Clank titles or broader PlayStation services.

- Refunds: Any requests for refunds regarding previous purchases must be handled through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
