LOS Defeats Team Liquid to Advance at Worlds 2026
LOS secured a historic victory in the Round 4 1-2 bracket match of the 2026 LoL World Championship, defeating Team Liquid. The win marks a milestone for the Brazilian representatives and ends the tournament run for the LCS's top seed.
The match took place on October 31 at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. With this victory, LOS set a new record for the longest survival by a CBLOL team at Worlds, advancing to the fifth round. Conversely, Team Liquid's journey ended in the Swiss Stage.
In Game 1, LOS took control through Curse's Trundle, who dominated the map with aggressive counter-jungling and successful ganks. While Team Liquid attempted to fight back using Josedeodo's Nocturne, they couldn't overcome the objective control and the sheer performance of Curse, who finished the game with 7 kills and zero deaths.
Team Liquid bounced back in Game 2 by focusing heavily on the bottom lane to pressure Yeon's Lucian. Despite LOS attempting to close the gap, the frontline provided by Josedeodo's Xin Zhao and Morgan's Ornn proved too durable for LOS's dual-AP composition. Securing the Elder Dragon allowed Team Liquid to force a decider.
The final game was a high-stakes battle of attrition. LOS established an early lead through Curse's Pantheon, securing Rift Herald and multiple dragons to build a massive gold advantage. Although Team Liquid attempted a comeback by stealing Baron, Dudu's Kalista proved decisive in the final Elder Dragon fight, breaking through the frontline to secure the series for LOS.
