Hanwha Life Esports Eliminates G2, Heads to 2-2 Decider Match
Hanwha Life Esports secured their spot in the quarterfinals by defeating G2 Esports 2-0. The victory in Round 4 of the 2026 LoL World Championship ensures the series moves to a decisive 2-2 match.
The match took place on October 31 (KST) at the Credit Union of Texas Event Center in Allen, Texas. During Game 2, both teams saw early skirmishes on the lanes, with Kanavi's Jarvan IV and SkewMond's Qiyana securing kills for their respective sides. However, Hanwha Life Esports quickly seized momentum through superior coordination between Gumayusi and Delight, effectively countering G2's attempts to pressure Zeus's Ambessa.
Zeka's Swain proved to be a decisive factor, showcasing impressive resilience in a 1v3 situation. While G2 Esports attempted to dive Gumayusi's Lucian in the mid lane, the timely arrival of Ambessa prevented a major setback, resulting in a trade that favored HLE. This stability allowed Hanwha Life Esports to maintain control over the map tempo.
The game was effectively decided around the 21-minute mark during a major teamfight. Hanwha Life Esports secured an Ace, losing only Ambessa in the process. This allowed them to capture both the Hextech Soul and Baron Nashor. Following the fall of Camille on the side lane, HLE closed out the game behind Zeka's dominant Swain.
