DirectX 12 and AMD FSR 3.1 Support: Black Desert October 28 Patch Summary
Black Desert received a significant update on Wednesday, October 28. The most notable technical additions are support for DirectX 12 and AMD FSR 3.1 technology. Additionally, the update features buffs for the Succession Corsair class and a status change for the monster Lau Lau.
Graphics and Performance Improvements
The update introduces DirectX 12 support. While DirectX 11 remains the default setting, players can manually switch to the new version via the settings menu in the top right corner.

Furthermore, AMD FSR 3.1 has been implemented to enhance upscaling, anti-aliasing, and frame stability. A new screen sharpness adjustment option is also available for those using AMD FSR 3.1.
Class and Monster Adjustments
Regarding class balance, Succession Corsair has received damage increases for seven of its skills.

In the monster category, the field monster Lau Lau has been reclassified as a World Boss. Starting October 29, it will spawn daily at 19:30. This change includes weekly quests, reward boxes, and contribution rewards for defeating it. Additionally, the first reform for Stout Lau Lau's Heart now increases max durability to +200, and a second reform formula has been added.
New spawns have also been added to Inner Edania: Journey's End, where Khalk and Gargoyles can now be found. Defeating a Despair-consumed Khalk carries a low chance of spawning a powerful purple-energy version of the monster, which offers increased loot. The dropped Corrupted Khalk's Essence can be used to craft Perfume of Obsession, while Khalk Blood can serve as a substitute for the blood of Bear, Troll, Ogre, Dinosaur, Lion, Yak, and Rock Elephant.
New Honor System: Footsteps of Solare
A new honor feature called Footsteps of Solare has been introduced. Participating in ranked matches grants 1 Footsteps of Solare point for that specific class, which accumulates across all seasons. Players receive different emblems based on the total points earned per class.
