Wreck Runners September Update Playtest for Xbox Insiders

Players can bring up to three friends to explore an unreleased development build featuring content planned for the September Update. The session allows crews to experience new mechanics and locations ahead of the public launch.

The build includes several key additions, such as Temples, a new type of location for exploration and salvage, and Runner color customization. A dangerous new underwater enemy also appears beneath the surface, while Paranormal Progression introduces new choices as crews progress through a run. Additionally, Trustwell Lost Salvage rewards exploration beyond familiar areas, accompanied by new hazards and interface improvements.

The playtest build supports 15 additional languages, including Arabic, German, Latin American Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Kazakh, Korean, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Ukrainian, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. The development team specifically requests feedback from players using these languages regarding clarity, naturalness, and translation quality.

As this is an unreleased development build, players may encounter bugs, and content may change before the September Update launches. The playtest runs from Friday, September 4 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC) to Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 AM PT (17:00 UTC).

To participate, sign in on your Xbox Series X|S console and launch the Xbox Insider Hub app. Navigate to Previews, select Wreck Runners, and choose Join. Once registration completes, install Wreck Runners Playtest! from the Store. If issues arise, use the "Report a problem" feature via the home button on the controller, selecting the Games category and the Wreck Runners Playtest subcategory.
