World of Warcraft Hotfixes: Class and PvP Adjustments
Blizzard has deployed a new set of hotfixes for World of Warcraft, impacting various modes including Midnight, Classic versions, and PvP combat. The updates focus on addressing bugs in Labyrinth scenarios, fine-tuning class balance, and fixing item-related issues.
Class balance adjustments saw significant shifts for healers and damage dealers. Druid (Feral and Restoration) received buffs: Feral damage increased by 5%, while Restoration abilities like Verdancy, Regrowth, and Swiftmend were enhanced to improve dungeon group healing. Hunter (Marksmanship) saw improvements to area-of-effect damage via Trick Shots, Explosive Shot, and Volley. Conversely, Mage (Fire) received a 5% damage reduction in PvP to curb its overperformance.
The Rogue (Subtlety) adjustments involved a partial rollback of buffs from patch 12.1.5, alongside a targeted nerf to the Trickster specialization. Meanwhile, Warlock (Destruction) received a 20% damage increase for Rain of Fire, and Affliction saw a boost to Unstable Affliction damage.
PvP combat received several targeted tweaks to stabilize the meta:
- Holy Paladin received a 5% healing increase and reduced mana costs for Holy Light via Divine Favor.
- Holy Priest saw significant buffs to Archon and Prayer of Healing to improve group utility.
- Demon Hunter (Devourer) and Hunter (Marksmanship) received damage increases.
- Death Knight (Unholy) saw a 20% damage reduction for San’layn in PvP.
Technical fixes were also implemented across the board. In The Burning Crusade Classic, Heroic Dungeon keys now require Honored reputation instead of Revered. Additionally, developers addressed various bugs within Labyrinth scenarios, item display issues, and quest completion errors in several zones.
