Hush Joins VALORANT in Patch 13.09, and Warden Gets Buffs
VALORANT Patch 13.09 has officially arrived, introducing the new agent Hush to the roster. Alongside this addition, Riot Games has implemented handling improvements for the Warden and adjustments to Clove's kit.
A Utility-Heavy New Agent: Hush
Hush enters the agent pool as a telekinetic specialist focused on battlefield control. Her kit revolves around displacing enemies: the Displacement ability pulls players toward a center point and causes a concussion upon impact with surfaces or other players. She can also use Flashbulb to blind enemies and Flow to levitate and propel herself toward an anchor. Additionally, her passive allows her to interact with weapons, the Spike, and switches from an increased range. Hush is the first new agent released since the introduction of Performance Score, and Riot Games noted that her utility effectiveness metrics may fluctuate during the initial tuning phase.
Weapon and Agent Adjustments
The Warden has received much-needed stability improvements. The pitch recoil of the initial shots has been smoothed out, and the error rates for the second and third shots have been reduced to 0.2 and 0.5, respectively, making the weapon more controllable at its current price point.
Regarding agents, Clove's movement speed bonus from the Pick-me-up ability has been reduced from 15% to 10%. However, a new mechanic has been added to balance her playstyle: killing Clove after she has used Not Dead Yet now grants the killer one ultimate point and a signature ability refresh.
Competitive and System Updates
The patch introduces new terminology, including Haste (increased movement speed) and Snapshot (a silhouette reveal). In the competitive landscape, the Act Best Match will now have a larger impact on rankings. The update also includes various bug fixes for agents like Cypher, Omen, and Raze, alongside UI improvements and console-specific feedback updates.
