Wildcard's Major chances fall to 24% after disappointing result at FOX Legacy Season 1
The North American Wildcard squad faces an uphill battle for PGL Singapore Major qualification in Counter-Strike 2. Following their performance at FOX Legacy Season 1, their chances of making the Major have dropped to 24%, down from a previous 39%.
The team finished in 5th–6th place in Portugal. Wildcard's playoff run in the upper bracket began with a loss to Nice Try, a side ranked 115th in the VRS standings. Although they managed to defeat EAC afterwards, they were eventually eliminated from the event by INFINITE in a 0:2 series.
The loss to Nice Try—a team significantly lower in the VRS rankings than Nemanja "nEMANHA" Đukić's squad—has dealt a heavy blow to their prospects. This follows a strong showing at iBUYPOWER Masters FML 2026, where Wildcard secured a second-place finish behind champions Liquid.
To secure a spot in Singapore, Wildcard must perform at FRAG University and FiRe Last Chance. Projections suggest the following scenarios:
- A top-8 finish at both events would raise their odds to 55%;
- Winning FRAG University would boost their chances to 74%;
- A championship at FiRe Last Chance would provide an 89% chance of qualification due to the higher level of competition.
The team must find their form immediately at their upcoming LAN events to stay in the race for the Major.
