Valve grants BC.Game exception for Asian Major qualification
Valve has officially granted BC.Game permission to compete for an invitation to PGL Major Singapore 2026 through the Asian region. This decision serves as an exception to the recently amended Valve Regional Standings (VRS) rules, which prohibit teams from changing their regional designation if they have participated in another region's VRS within the previous three calendar months.
As a result, the BC.Game roster—consisting of asap, Magisk, mzinho, s1mple, and Senzu—is now assigned to Asia and is eligible for a Major invitation, despite not meeting the new three-month requirement. The rule change was originally implemented to prevent teams from switching from stronger regions to weaker ones just before a Major to secure easier qualification points.
The decision was documented in the official list of exceptions on GitHub. This follows an appeal from BC.Game CEO Ali "Ako" Muhanned, who requested that the team be allowed to compete in the Asian VRS starting with zero points. Coach Viktor "TaZ" Wojtas had previously stated the club would contest the new regulations but ultimately respect Valve's final verdict. The appeal was successful.
With this ruling, BC.Game is positioned to almost certainly participate in the tournament. This marks the first time Valve has provided such an exception for a Major; the last similar exception for a regular tournament was granted nearly a year ago.
