MOUZ have reached the semi-finals of BLAST Open Porto after defeating Falcons, continuing a strong second half of the year that began with their victory at BLAST Bounty Season 2. Ahead of their upcoming match against either Vitality or FURIA, torzsi discussed the team's recent form, the integration of new players, and the adjusted expectations for the roster.
Following a challenging start to 2026, MOUZ have rebuilt their momentum with a win at BLAST Bounty Season 2 and a quarter-final finish at EWC. torzsi acknowledged that while the Bounty victory provided significant confidence, the team did not always show their best version of themselves, particularly in the manner of their losses and qualification for the playoffs at EWC.
The player noted that his improved performance is a combination of xertioN's work as IGL and his own individual efforts. torzsi explained that he spent time working with a sports psychologist to address mental state and burnout, a process that required open communication with xertioN and sycrone. He emphasized that while good tournament results help, they cannot fix underlying mental issues on their own.
The roster has seen significant changes, including the arrival of PR from GamerLegion. torzsi praised PR's sharpness and game sense, noting that he was already one of the best players at his previous team. However, he highlighted a visible difference in approach between players who came directly from the NXT system, like xelex and Jimpphat, and those who returned from other organizations, such as siuhy and PR. The team is currently working to align these new additions with the established ideology and workflow.
torzsi also took on a mentorship role for xelex, his countryman, who is still adapting to his new positions and roles. While xelex has the ability to become one of the best players in the world, torzsi believes he needs more time to master his consistency and positioning. The team is focused on helping the younger players catch up to the veterans' level while simultaneously improving the overall performance of the roster.
Looking ahead, torzsi stated that this is the best iteration of MOUZ ever. He believes the lineup has significant potential, as demonstrated at BLAST Bounty, and hopes to peak in time for the events in Singapore and the upcoming Major, aiming to return to the elite level of the game.
