Top Three Memory Makers: 2027 Capacity Already Sold Out
Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix have fully booked their 2027 production capacity. Chip shortages for PCs and smartphones could intensify.
The three largest memory manufacturers — Samsung, Micron, and SK Hynix — have already sold out their entire production capacity for 2027. According to reports from DIGITIMES, the companies have secured long-term contracts with major customers, as well as supply allocations for smaller clients.
Full Control Over Supply
Industry sources indicate that the main volumes of DRAM and HBM (high-bandwidth memory) for 2027 are already allocated. A similar situation is observed with NAND flash: annual production is fully sold out, and suppliers Kioxia and SK Hynix are expected to complete allocation by the end of August 2026.
This means that companies that failed to book volumes in advance may face a lack of products in the market next year. Priority is given to cloud service providers and artificial intelligence (AI) hardware manufacturers, reducing the share of memory allocated for smartphone and PC producers.
