Lexar Announces 32GB DDR5-7200 Kit on Chinese Chips for $592
Lexar has launched a new 32GB THOR RGB DDR5 Gen 2 memory kit running at 7200 MT/s, utilizing DRAM modules from an unidentified Chinese manufacturer.
Lexar has announced the release of a new THOR RGB DDR5 Gen 2 memory kit with a capacity of 32GB, operating at DDR5-7200. The key change is the use of DRAM modules from an unidentified Chinese manufacturer, likely CXMT.
The new kit consists of two 16GB modules and is targeted at the Chinese market. The manufacturer has not officially disclosed the specific DRAM vendor, but community speculation points to CXMT chips hidden beneath the sandblasted aluminum heatsink.
The modules support Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO profiles at 1.40V with CAS timings of 38-48-48-86. Lexar has tested compatibility on various motherboards from ASUS and MSI for both Intel and AMD platforms.
Notably, the announcement also mentions a 32GB kit running at 7600 MT/s, though details remain undisclosed. The official JD store in China lists the product at 3999 yuan, which converts to approximately $592. There is currently no information regarding plans for international release.
