Total sales for The Exit 8 have surpassed three million copies, publisher PLAYISM and developer KOTAKE CREATE announced on September 7, 2026.
The anomaly escape game first launched for PC via Steam on November 29, 2023. It subsequently expanded to Switch on April 17, 2024, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on August 8, 2024, Xbox Series on January 8, 2025, iOS and Android on March 27, 2025, and Switch 2 on August 29, 2025.
A live-action movie based on the game premiered on August 29, 2025. Total sales were last reported to have surpassed two million in August 2025, meaning the title added one million copies in the following month.
