Street Fighter 6 DLC character Arjun launches October 13
Capcom has confirmed that Arjun, the next downloadable character for Street Fighter 6, will launch on October 13. The fighter, who relies on Yoga Breathing techniques, is the second addition to the Year 4 roster and will be available to players who own the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass.
Announced on September 7, 2026, Arjun brings a unique playstyle to the Street Fighter 6 roster. According to Capcom, the character served as a police officer in India until his trusted partner was murdered and he was framed for the crime. Now living on the run, Arjun dedicates his every breath toward uncovering the mystery behind his partner's death. His gameplay identity centers on Yoga Breathing techniques, making him a stalwart powerhouse that sacrifices speed for powerful strikes. These strikes are capable of dealing recoverable damage to opponents even after being blocked, while his devastating projectiles and clever traps combine to steal his opponent's breath away in one fell swoop.
Move Set and Mechanics
Arjun's toolkit includes several distinct moves that define his approach to combat. His primary offensive tool is the Arm of Justice, a versatile winding punch that saps his opponent's energy. This move features variants for different attack strengths and includes an optional Follow-up. For close-range pressure, he utilizes the Cruel Shoulder, a lunging forward shoulder tackle whose properties change depending on the strength of the attack.
One of Arjun's most distinctive mechanics is the Breathing Ring. This move creates a ring of air made through body and spirit, which he can follow up with Breathing Shockwave to send the ring forward as a projectile at various angles. He also possesses the Divine Pillar, where Arjun blows enough air into the ground to raise it into a pillar of earth. The strength of the attack determines the distance of the pillar, and holding the button delays its activation. If Arjun uses Cruel Shoulder to contact an active Divine Pillar, he can grab the pillar and swing it at his opponent in any direction, a move named Justice Beyond.
Arjun's defensive and special options include the Ghastly Interrogation, a command throw that only deals recoverable damage, but can deal normal damage if the opponent has already received recoverable damage. His Indomitable Defense allows him to use yogic breathing to hyper-oxygenate his muscles, turning any incoming melee strikes into counterattacks that deal recoverable damage. While Indomitable Defense is engaged, he can use Moral Breakdown to throw both fists forward, dealing recoverable damage on block or normal damage on hit.
His Super Arts follow a similar thematic progression. Howling Destruction, his Level 1 Super Art, mows down foes with quick bursts of his breathing technique. Instant Oblivion, his Level 2 Super Art, sends foes flying into the air and far away from him, allowing him to set up a Divine Pillar. Finally, Yaksha's Order, his Level 3 Super Art, sees him disrupt his opponent's inner ear before performing a cinematic devastating attack.
Availability and Roster Context
Arjun will be unlocked on October 13 for players who own or purchase the Year 4 Character Pass or Year 4 Ultimate Pass. The character comes with two outfits. Outfit 1 depicts him while he is on the run in pursuit of vengeance. Outfit 2 represents an idealized vision of Arjun who has put his quest for justice behind him. This second outfit can be unlocked by maxing out his Acquisition Gauge in Avatar Arcade Mode or with Fighter Coins.
Arjun is the second character to be released from the upcoming Year 4 roster. The full Year 4 lineup includes Tifa from the Final Fantasy VII Remake series, Bosch, and the previously released Yasmine. Street Fighter 6 is currently available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam. Capcom has also released a new gameplay trailer and a set of screenshots showcasing Arjun's moveset and visual design.
