SteelSeries Rival Pro & Sensei Pro Mice Ditch USB Dongles For Ultra-Wideband 8K

SteelSeries has introduced the latest wireless lineup in its Sensei Pro and Rival Pro series. The standout feature of these mice is the implementation of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, which enables an 8,000Hz polling rate and a more stable connection by moving away from the crowded 2.4GHz band.

UWB Technology and 8K Polling

The core technical shift involves moving the wireless communication to the 6.4GHz band. By utilizing UWB, the mice can leverage multiple wireless channels to provide the high bandwidth necessary for an 8,000Hz polling rate. This approach also mitigates potential interference issues common with standard 2.4GHz wireless peripherals.

To address the increased power demands of high-frequency polling, SteelSeries has introduced the Infinite Power System. This system utilizes two hot-swappable batteries, each capable of providing 16 hours of playtime while operating in the 8K polling mode.

Ergonomics and Variants

The lineup is divided into several models based on shape and weight to accommodate different grip styles:

  • Sensei Pro: A symmetrical design tailored for claw grip enthusiasts, weighing 53g.
  • Rival Pro: An ergonomic shape designed for palm grip users, weighing 54g.
  • Mini variants: Smaller versions of both models, each weighing 49g.

All models will be available in two color options: black and white.

Pricing and Availability

The Sensei Pro, Sensei Pro Mini, Rival Pro, and Rival Pro Mini are available for pre-order at $179.99. Shipping is scheduled to begin on October 13, 2026.
