Spirit eliminates Luminosity from EWC as they go winless for a second event

Following a disappointing 0-3 exit at their debut XSE Pro League, Luminosity entered the EWC hoping to regain momentum. However, an early loss to GamerLegion in their opener led to a difficult bracket draw, pitting them against Spirit. The match ended with a comprehensive victory for the Czech team.

The series began on Ancient, where Spirit secured the pistol round and quickly established dominance. Despite standout performances from superstar Danil "donk" Kryshkovets, who recorded 15 kills to 6 in the first half, the gap was too wide for a comeback. The score stood at 9-3 in favor of Spirit after the first pistol round win. Following another pistol victory, Spirit cruised to a 19-15 win after two overtime rounds.

On the second map, Dust2, Luminosity managed to win the pistol round and convert it before Spirit went on a 6-2 run. The score was tied at 6-6, but Spirit regained control in the second half. Although Luminosity fought back to force overtime, Spirit secured both map points in double OT, closing out the match with a 19-15 scoreline.

Statistics underscored Spirit's superiority: Danil "donk" Kryshkovets posted an impressive +18 K/D and 92.8 ADR, while Dmitry "sh1ro" Sokolov contributed +14 to the kill differential. For Luminosity, Oscar "AZUWU" Bell led with a 0.99 rating, but it was insufficient to turn the tide.

The primary factor in their struggles has been the absence of veteran IGL Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen. Replaced by Lucas "lux" Meneghini, the team managed to win only one map out of eight played since the switch. After five consecutive series losses, their VRS ranking has declined, and they now face a challenging future with no remaining top-tier invites on the calendar.
