Shueisha Games Announces Colony Sim x 4X Strategy Game CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills for PC
Publisher Shueisha Games and Tokyo-based developer MicroSimulation have officially announced CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills, a hybrid title blending colony simulation with 4X strategy mechanics, set to launch on PC via Steam this summer 2027. The game promises a deep dive into nation-building where individual citizen lives directly influence macro-level history, offering players the chance to shape economies, diplomacy, and war through the collective wills of their population.
At its core, CONQUISTA: Tide of Wills tasks players with establishing a settlement from scratch. As resources are gathered and buildings constructed, the colony grows organically. Citizens arrive with unique names, jobs, and personal lives, engaging in daily activities like working, shopping at markets, and gathering at taverns. These individual actions collectively shape the town's economy and society, creating a living world that evolves beyond simple resource management.
The game introduces a unique mechanic centered on "Passions"—powerful emotions born from citizens' hopes and frustrations. A rumor whispered in a tavern can spark a rebellion; an explorer's desire to see beyond the horizon can lead them into uncharted lands without permission; a merchant might seize a lucrative opportunity to cross borders independently. These personal drives can reshape national borders, forge alliances, or even lead to declarations of independence, making every playthrough distinct.

Players face a fundamental choice in how to guide their nation: Harmony or Conquest. They can build trust through tribute and trade, forging alliances with neighboring powers, or they can raise an army and carve out new territory through massive battles. The game emphasizes that diplomacy and war are not just paths to victory but define the very nature of the nation being built. Every decision intertwines with citizen lives, transforming settlements and creating a unique history for each world.

Nagahiro Enatsu, Development Lead and Director at MicroSimulation, noted that the team wanted to move beyond standard historical simulations where human drama emerges solely from calculations. "I hope to bring that connection to life," Enatsu stated. "A small choice made by a citizen with a Passion can change a town; that change transforms its people and eventually becomes part of the nation's history." The developers aim for an experience where things do not always go according to plan, realizing that the world does not belong to the ruler alone.

Soya Nakano, Producer at Shueisha Games, echoed this sentiment, describing a nation as "a collection of people." He highlighted how the game seamlessly connects micro-level individual lives with macro-level strategy. The daily struggles and aspirations of individuals drive the economy and society, which in turn leads to diplomatic maneuvering, warfare, and struggles for supremacy that ultimately transform history.

The title will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options upon release. While specific gameplay mechanics are still being revealed through upcoming trailers and screenshots, the announcement confirms the game's focus on unpredictable fate and a world that changes with every playthrough. The development team invites players to discover whether they can master the chaos and unite the world in their own unique way.
