Shanghai to host second CS2 Major in 2027
Perfect World has officially announced that the second Major of 2027 will return to Shanghai. The Counter-Strike 2 event is scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 12.
This marks Perfect World's second Major in Shanghai following the 2024 edition, where Spirit secured their first title by defeating FaZe in the grand final. With this announcement, Shanghai joins an exclusive group of cities to host a Major more than once, alongside Cologne, Katowice, Atlanta, and Jönköping.
The 2027 Major calendar features a significant global spread. The first event of the year will be hosted by FiReSPORTS in Buenos Aires, marking South America's debut as a Major host city. Together with Shanghai, these locations ensure representation for regions that have historically been underserved in the Major circuit. The Shanghai Major is expected to feature a $1.25 million prize pool and will consist of four stages.
