Sega gameplay updates for Persona 4 Revival, Crazy Taxi and Total War: Warhammer 40,000

Persona 4 Revival, developed by P-Studio, returns fans to the rural town of Inaba where bizarre murders have struck. The demo is structured around three distinct sections called Channels. Channel 1 introduces players to the eerie Shopping District and the first Shadow, Spiteful Hablerie, allowing them to awaken their Persona, Izanagi. Channel 2 features free exploration of modernized dungeons set in Yukiko's Castle, culminating in a challenging boss fight against Shadow Chie and her Persona, Tomoe. Press and creators get exclusive access to Channel 3, which offers an extended look at daily life before players venture into the dungeon to utilize the new Prime Time meter for explosive, combo-laden destruction. The modernized RPG classic arrives on PlayStation 5 on February 18, 2027.

Total War: Warhammer 40,000, developed by Creative Assembly, brings the grim darkness of the far future to PlayStation for the first time. The Gamescom demo guides players through three escalating scenarios. The first scenario introduces core controls and gameplay basics like camera movement and unit selection, featuring an all-new reinforcement system where drop pods thunder down upon the enemy. The second scenario opens with a new customization system, letting players forge a unique Space Marine army by choosing colors, heraldry, and names before moving them across a galactic campaign to fight Orks. The final scenario tests command of a huge force against a massive Ork horde on an Imperial battlefield, showcasing war machines clashing in spectacular style.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour makes its playable debut with the newly revealed Germany map, one of five international maps in the upcoming game. Announced with a trailer set to Bad Religion's "Ten in 2010," the new map includes familiar regional landmarks and renowned brands like Puma and Zwilling. The terrain is packed with winding streets and twisty turns, requiring drivers to master "Crazy Moves" such as Crazy Dash, Crazy Stop, and the new Crazy Drift. Paired with a Nitro Boost for speed, players will execute slick combos while taking on extreme missions. For those not attending Gamescom, an opportunity exists to participate in the Crazy Taxi: World Tour Multiplayer Closed Network Test from September 11 to 13, with submissions closing August 31.

Stranger Than Heaven, developed by RGG Studio, highlights an all-new look at three of the five eras and cities in protagonist Makoto Daito's fifty-year journey across Japan. Whether it is a bustling train station in Kokura in 1915, the snow-covered naval city of Kure in 1929, or the rain-soaked nightscape of Minami in 1943, the demo showcases ambitious world-building. Players will also experience an updated combat system that uses shoulder buttons and triggers to control the left and right sides of Makoto's body independently during chaotic street brawls. The title heads to PlayStation 5 on January 15, 2027.

Sonic Pico Park, developed by Tecopark and published by Pico Park Inc., offers the signature puzzle-driven co-op action of the original Pico Park titles with a Sonic the Hedgehog twist. Players can choose from favorite characters including Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Amy, and the new addition of Shadow the Hedgehog. Fans can work together to finish puzzles or cause classic Sonic chaos. The game will launch later in 2026 with up to 8 players and will feature cross-platform and online capabilities.

Alien Isolation 2, developed by Creative Assembly, follows directly from the original game. The prologue mission drops players into Kurosaki, a Weyland-Yutani colony in a far-flung galaxy, where a section of Sevastopol station has crashed. Players take their first footsteps as Blake, the new protagonist, investigating the wreck and unwittingly releasing the Alien from its captivity. This sets off a terrifying game of cat-and-mouse as players try to escape the ultimate killing machine. Many made it out intact, but not all, leaving questions about what happens next.
