Rumors: valyn to leave G2 and join Fnatic for the 2027 season
Jacob "valyn" Batio is reportedly set to leave G2 Esports to join Fnatic for the 2027 season following the conclusion of VALORANT Champions 2026. According to Sheep Esports, the American captain will make a regional move from VCT Americas to VCT EMEA.
Eduardo "Sato" Nagahama is expected to replace valyn at G2. Additionally, Francisco "kiNgg" Aravena is rumored to join the roster as a duelist, taking the spot of Andrej "babybay" Francisty. Meanwhile, babybay is reportedly considering options to continue his career in VCT China, following his extended stay in the region after Champions.

valyn has been with G2 since 2023 and assumed the captaincy in 2024. During his tenure, the team secured three VCT Americas titles in 2025, finished second at Masters Bangkok, won Americas Stage 1 in 2026, and placed in the top four at VALORANT Champions. At Fnatic, he is expected to take over for Jake "Boaster" Howlett, who was benched in September 2026.

The transfer has not been officially confirmed. Updated rosters may be revealed during the offseason before the start of the 2027 VCT season.
