Riot Games Expands Second European Qualifier for VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027 to 512 Teams
The second European qualifier for VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027 has been expanded to 512 teams. An extra game day will be added to the schedule.
Riot Games has increased the participant limit for the second European qualifier of VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027. The number of participating teams has grown from 256 to 512.
The update was announced by Tomek Borowka, the VALORANT esports manager for the EMEA region. The decision follows the rapid filling of the original 256-team limit, which left several interested parties on the waiting list. To accommodate the larger field, organizers will add an additional game day to the schedule.
Registration for the second qualifier is scheduled to open at 10:00 CET. Riot Games representatives also encouraged teams that missed out on the first qualifier to apply for this upcoming stage.
From each European open qualifier, four teams will advance to the VCT EMEA Kickoff Europe Qualifier Playoffs. During that stage, two spots for the VCT EMEA Kickoff 2027 will be contested.
