Retroid Duo Lite+ features Dragonwing Q-7790 and 8GB RAM
Retroid has expanded its dual-screen handheld lineup with the introduction of the Duo Lite+. This new model is designed to sit between the entry-level Duo Lite and the premium Duo, offering a significant performance boost while maintaining a slim design.
Hardware and Positioning
The core upgrade in the Duo Lite+ is the move to a more capable chipset. While the standard Duo Lite uses the Dragonwing QCS6125 with Adreno 610 graphics, the Lite+ is powered by the Dragonwing Q-7790. This SoC features one Cortex-A720 core at 2.6 GHz, four Cortex-A720 cores at 2.4 GHz, and three Cortex-A520 cores at 1.8 GHz. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 722, running at up to 1.15 GHz.
Alongside the upgraded processor, the device comes equipped with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Retroid has not yet released a full specification sheet, so it remains unconfirmed whether all other components—such as the display technology—remain identical to the Duo Lite. The current Lite model utilizes 5.5-inch and 4.2-inch TFT displays with a 60 Hz refresh rate.
Pricing and Availability
The Duo Lite+ effectively bridges the gap in the Retroid Duo series. While the flagship Retroid Duo features 120 Hz AMOLED displays and analog L2/R2 triggers, the Lite+ retains the simpler TFT panels and standard controls. However, it brings the processing power of the high-end model to a more accessible tier.
The MSRP for the Duo Lite+ is set at $219. Customers can use the LITEPLUS coupon to bring the pre-order price down to $199 through October 31. Shipping is expected to commence in mid-November.
