Reign of Talon – S5 Midcycle Sets Up the Showdown
The Reign of Talon storyline reaches its climax. In the S5 midseason update, the conflict between Doomfist and Overwatch moves to Rialto to settle the score with Vendetta.
The Taking Reign event marks the conclusion of the first year-long story arc. Running from November 3 to December 7, the five-week event features 24 reward tiers. Players can earn an Epic Sigma skin recolor via the Free Pass or upgrade to the Event Pass to unlock the Legendary Resurgence Doomfist weapon for Vendetta.
A major highlight is the Overwatch x EVE Protocol collaboration, active from November 3 to November 17. This crossover introduces themed skins: Widowmaker as EVE, D.Va as Lily (featuring an Ultra skin with custom kill effects), Soldier: 76 as Adam, and Vendetta as Tachy.
Roadhog receives the Mythic Necrotic Knight skin, offering four levels of customization. This includes a base Mythic form, specialized helmet options (Skull, Knight, and Plague Doctor inspired), additional color palettes, and final-tier ethereal effects like spectral flames and claws.
Additional content includes the return of the Excavation Initiative and Junkrat’s Loot Hunt for earning Loot Boxes. From December 3 to 7, Competitive and Quick Play Drives will be available, offering up to 3,000 points each. Additionally, the OWCS World Finals will take place from December 2 to 6, accompanied by an in-game Cheer Rally.
