Razer Debuts Seiren V3 Chroma with 32-Bit DSP
The new model adds onboard audio processing and RGB lighting to a compact USB microphone designed for streamers.
Razer has announced the Seiren V3 Chroma 32-Bit DSP, an upgraded version of its popular microphone lineup. The device is positioned as an accessible way to achieve studio-grade audio quality without complex setups. Its main innovation lies in the built-in digital signal processor (DSP), which handles audio processing at the hardware level rather than relying on the user's computer.
Hardware Processing and AI
The primary difference from previous models is the inclusion of a dedicated chip for audio processing. The microphone operates at 24/32-bit depth with sample rates up to 96 kHz. This allows the device to handle sudden volume changes and peak loads independently, preventing distortion (clipping) without taxing the user's CPU resources.
Built-in artificial intelligence automatically adjusts equalization, compresses the signal, and suppresses background noise, such as PC fan hum or room reflections. As a result, the sound is broadcast-ready immediately upon plugging in the cable, eliminating the need for manual interface tuning.
Construction and Controls
The focus is on a 16 mm capsule with a supercardioid pickup pattern. This shape effectively rejects off-axis sounds, such as mechanical keyboard typing or mouse clicks, which is particularly useful for recording in untreated rooms.
A touch sensor on the top of the chassis manages microphone control. A single tap mutes the feed, while double and triple taps can be mapped via Razer Synapse software—for example, to cycle through lighting effects or toggle a digital limiter.
Lighting and Compatibility
The microphone supports the Razer Chroma RGB ecosystem. The LED strip reacts to in-game events, chat messages, and viewer actions. All functions, including lighting customization and audio parameter adjustments, are managed through Razer Synapse or the Streamer Companion App.
Connection is made via USB-C to USB-A, ensuring native compatibility with popular streaming software like OBS Studio and Discord. No drivers are required, while advanced settings remain accessible in the company's proprietary software.
