Razer acquires StreamElements assets
Razer has announced the acquisition of assets from StreamElements, a cloud-based live streaming platform. Unlike a full merger, this deal is structured as an asset purchase: Razer acquires the technology, brand, and operations, while the company owner, Live Momentum, remains liable for prior business debts, including payments owed to creators before the deal closed.
StreamElements offers a suite of tools for streamers, including custom overlays, stream alerts, chatbots, tipping pages, and sponsorship management. Razer confirmed that tipping will continue as normal under the new ownership.
Min-Liang Tan, co-founder and CEO of Razer, stated: "Content creators and live streamers are an integral part of the Razer community, and they have been for a very long time. Bringing them into the Razer family lets us double down on what we already do for creators."
Or Perry, co-founder and CEO of StreamElements, added: "Razer understands that creators have been embedded in this community for years, and they share the same obsession for getting it right."
Razer plans to deepen integration between StreamElements and its existing creator-focused products over time, including Razer Chroma, Razer Gold, Razer Silver, and Razer ID. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
