Portal with RTX and Half-Life 2 RTX demo now support DLSS 5
NVIDIA has introduced DLSS 5 Neural Rendering support to Portal with RTX and the Half-Life 2 RTX demo. Players can now enable 3D-Guided Neural Rendering via the RTX Remix settings menu, bringing advanced AI-driven rendering to these classic titles.
Neural Rendering in RTX Remix
The update for Portal with RTX, released on October 21, allows users to access DLSS 5 features by pressing Alt+X in-game. The feature is optional and disabled by default. In addition to Neural Rendering, the update introduces Windows on ARM support and further rendering options.

The Half-Life 2 RTX demo received its update on October 23, adding several key features:
- DLSS Frame Generation (Preset C);
- 6X Multi Frame Generation;
- DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution (Preset F).
Neural Rendering works by utilizing the existing rendered image and scene data to modify lighting and material appearances through an AI model. NVIDIA has released an optimized version of this model, which reduces GPU overhead compared to the version released in September.
Hardware Compatibility
Current official support for Neural Rendering is targeted at GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs and RTX Spark hardware. Other DLSS features, such as Frame Generation, remain compatible with RTX 40 Series GPUs. The new 5X and 6X Multi Frame Generation modes specifically require RTX 50 Series hardware.
