Pokémon UNITE to end service in March 2027
Pokémon UNITE is ending its service. Both the Nintendo Switch and mobile versions will be shut down on March 23, 2027, at 9:00 AM, according to an official notice from The Pokémon Company.
The shutdown announcement was made via an official website notice on October 27 (KST). Following the announcement, in-game purchase functions have been suspended: players can no longer buy Aeos Gems, and new sign-ups or auto-renewals for UNITE Club memberships have been discontinued. However, previously purchased gems remain usable until the end of service, and existing members will retain their benefits for the remainder of their current subscription period.
To mark the end of the game's lifecycle, a special update featuring a 'Library' feature is scheduled for launch on November 12. This feature will allow players to view their battle records, acquired licenses, and Holowear even after the service ends. The update will also include an event where players can obtain various previously released items, such as Unite Licenses. Players are advised to download necessary data before the shutdown, as access will be blocked and data cannot be transferred between devices once the service is offline.
The competitive scene will conclude with the Pokémon UNITE Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament. Qualifiers are set to begin on December 5, with the grand finals taking place in Tokyo on March 20–21, 2027—just two days before the official shutdown. This follows the earlier announcement that the game would be excluded from the Pokémon World Championships 2027 in favor of this standalone final tournament.
Notably, Pokémon UNITE was featured as an official esports medal event at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games this past September. The tournament featured 58 players from 10 countries, with the South Korean national team securing a bronze medal.
