Paramount to produce live-action Cyberpunk 2077 adaptation
The universe of Cyberpunk 2077 is heading to the big screen. According to a report from Deadline, Paramount is developing a live-action adaptation of the franchise, with CD Projekt Red serving as a producer.
The production features Lorenzo di Bonaventura as a producer, a veteran known for his work on the Transformers films and Madame Web. His previous experience with video game adaptations includes the 2005 Doom movie.
CD Projekt Red has already addressed the news. Co-CEO Michał Nowakowski stated on Dwitter that the company is excited to partner with Paramount, noting that the studio shares their creative ambitions for the Cyberpunk franchise. While the partnership is confirmed, specific details regarding the plot, cast, or release window remain undisclosed.
Speculation regarding the cast is inevitable, especially given the involvement of Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba in the game. Idris Elba has previously expressed interest in participating in a live-action adaptation alongside Keanu Reeves, though no official casting has been announced. For now, the project remains in the early stages of development.
