Naughty Dog announces two new projects in The Last of Us universe
Naughty Dog has confirmed that two new projects set in the The Last of Us universe are currently in development. The announcement came via a message from studio head Neil Druckmann during the conclusion of The Last of Us Day 2026.
According to Druckmann, both upcoming projects aim to expand the scope of the The Last of Us world beyond the narratives of The Last of Us Part I and The Last of Us Part II. As the projects are in their early stages, specific details regarding their gameplay or story remain undisclosed.
The update also touched upon the progress of Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, the sci-fi adventure announced in 2024. Set thousands of years in the future, the game follows a bounty hunter attempting to escape dangerous planets. Development on this title has been underway since 2020, with a full reveal expected in 2027.
Druckmann concluded by stating that the studio intends to move quietly through the remainder of 2026, focusing on ongoing development work.
