The fourth-round matchups for the PGL Wallachia Season 9 group stage have been set. Natus Vincere is scheduled to face 1w Team in a battle for a playoff spot. Meanwhile, Xtreme Gaming and Team Yandex have already secured their positions in the playoffs.
Xtreme Gaming and Team Yandex have become the first teams to qualify for the playoffs after finishing their first three rounds with 3–0 records. Xtreme Gaming holds a map difference of +5. They join a group of six teams currently sitting at 2–1, including 1w Team, Natus Vincere, Aurora Gaming, LGD Gaming, Team Nemesis, and GamerLegion, all of whom are fighting for the remaining playoff berths.
The fourth-round matches, scheduled for September 22, will determine who secures a third victory to advance. In addition to the Natus Vincere vs. 1w Team series, the schedule features Team Nemesis against GamerLegion and LGD Gaming against Aurora Gaming.
For teams with a 1–2 record, the stakes are even higher: a loss in this round results in immediate elimination. Conventus Stellarum, Yakutou Brothers, Pipsqueak+4, Team Cobra, MOUZ, and Hokori are all one defeat away from exiting the tournament. Winners of these matches will move to the fifth round with a 2–2 record to keep their playoff hopes alive.
PGL Wallachia Season 9 is taking place from September 19 to 27 in Bucharest, Romania, with a $1 million prize pool.
