Mycelarium Update 1.02: Steam Achievements and New Game Modes
Following its recent launch, Mycelarium has received its first major content update, version 1.02. The developers at PLAN KAPKAN GAMES have introduced several highly requested features, including Steam Achievements and significant performance optimizations, alongside new ways to experience the underground fungal empire.
The update focuses heavily on quality-of-life improvements and expanding the ways players can interact with the game's incremental mechanics. Most notably, Steam Achievements are now officially integrated, allowing players to track their progress through the fungal network via the Steam platform. To streamline gameplay, the developers have also added keyboard shortcuts (1-8) for faster mushroom construction and a clickable animal tracker that allows players to jump directly to an animal's location.
New Gameplay Modes
To cater to different playstyles, version 1.02 introduces two distinct modes that alter the core loop of the game:
- Survival Mode: A high-difficulty challenge focused on balance and endurance, removing specific end goals and evolution tasks in favor of a tougher, more demanding experience.
- Exploration Mode: A more relaxed version of the original experience, featuring fewer animals and more leaves to facilitate a calmer journey through the underground world.
Performance and Audio
Beyond content, the update includes major optimizations aimed at significantly improving overall game performance. The developers also added a new music track to accompany the exploration and management aspects of the game.
The developers expressed their gratitude to the community for their feedback and patience during the early stages of the game's lifecycle, noting that they are continuing to work on further fixes and free content updates.
