MSI’s Pro Max Edge AI+ mini PC packs up to 128GB of memory
MSI has announced the Pro Max Edge AI+, a compact 4-litre mini PC designed to handle local AI inference, content creation, and data analysis. The system aims to provide high-performance computing without the privacy concerns or ongoing costs associated with cloud processing.
The standout feature of this machine is its massive memory capacity. Despite its small footprint (97.5 x 188.4 x 248.5mm), it supports up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5x-8000 memory. Crucially, up to 96GB of this can be allocated to the GPU, making it capable of running large language models (LLMs) locally. MSI claims the system can accelerate models like GPT-OSS 120B (which requires 65GB of VRAM) at approximately 33 tokens per second.
Under the hood, the device features a 16-core Zen 5 CPU based on the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip, paired with integrated Radeon 8060S graphics. It also includes a 50 TOPS NPU for AI-specific tasks. MSI states that the combination of a pure copper heatsink and a triple-fan setup keeps the system whisper-quiet, even during demanding 3D rendering or high-resolution video editing tasks.

For gaming enthusiasts, MSI advertises average frame rates of 80+ FPS at 2K resolution in AAA titles when using frame generation, though actual performance will vary by game. For users requiring even more power, the system supports multi-unit clustering, allowing up to four nodes to be combined to run even larger models with longer contexts.
Connectivity and Availability:
The I/O selection is extensive, featuring two USB 4 ports (40Gbps) with 15W Power Delivery and DisplayPort Alt Mode, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4a, and a "2.5GbE" LAN port. It also includes USB 3.2, USB 2.0, and an SDXC card reader, alongside Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.

The 128GB configuration is currently available through Scan in the UK for £4,799, slightly below the official MSRP of £4,999.
